Cumbria Unity Festival celebrates the strengths and diversity of the people of Cumbria by building community cohesion, advancing equality & social integration.


Our annual Cumbria Unity Festival took place between the 18th of June and the 16th of July 2022.

It was a hybrid event – mostly in person and partly online. The theme this year was “Healing Together”.

Cumbria Unity Festival 2021 - The Untold Story

Some of the people involved in making Carlisle and Kendal Unity Festivals happen discuss the origins of the event, how the event went online in the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, discuss the legacy of the festivals, plans for a Cumbria-wide event on 19th June 2021, and pay tribute to founding member Tony Hayward Stackpoole.

MorrisNatyam showreel (2019)

The fusion of Morris Dancing and Traditional Indian Dance by choreographer and dancer Priya Sundar.

This performance was filmed at Culture Bazaar 2019 held at Richard Rose Central Academy on 16th February by Multicultural Cumbria.
